About this course
This course provides specialist training for senior officers and any person with immediate responsibility for loading, discharging, care in transit or handling of bulk liquefied gas tanker cargoes. The course is also open to tanker terminal and ship management personnel, who will build on previous experience and gain a detailed appreciation of the safety aspects involved in the handling and carriage of bulk liquefied gas tanker cargoes.
The course takes full account of Chapter V Regulation V/1-2, Chapter V Section A-V/1-2.2 and Table A-V/1-2-2 of the 2010 STCW Code and complies with the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) requirements as satisfying part of the prerequisites for issue of a tanker endorsement by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Prerequisites
- After 9 June 2015
Full basic training in liquefied gas tanker cargo operations. Candidates must have the Tanker Fire Fighting certificate which meets the requirements set out in tables A-V/1-1-1 and A-V/1-2-1 of the STCW Convention and Code as amended and be in possession of the appropriate certificate.

Training in Tanker Fire Fighting
If you are not in possession of the Tanker Fire Fighting certificate (which is a five-hour stand-alone course), we offer this training.
The Tanker Fire Fighting certificate will also be issued on completion of the Advanced Fire Fighting course. Please note, there are prerequisites for enrolling on the Advanced Fire Fighting course, such as a Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting certificate, or equivalent - please see the course page for details.
