About this course
This five-day course is suitable for dynamic positioning (DP) operators who were unable to log 150 days of DP sea time during the previous five-year period since obtaining their DP certificates. The course focuses on the practical application of DP using class A DP simulators and will update the knowledge of operators with the new technologies and procedures, such as ASOG, CAMO and TAM.
The course comprises a combination of theory and practical exercises on a DP class A simulator. Through a series of simulator exercises, students review operational planning, power management, weather observation, blackout recovery methods, DP failure mitigation, and other skills necessary to being an important member of the bridge team. Emphasis is placed on safe DP operations and handling various DP emergencies.
