About this course
This course provides pilots with the theory of resource management on a navigation bridge as well as the practical experience of using the techniques learned in a simulated environment.
The course covers theory of resource management together with a selection of appropriate case studies and provides opportunity to practise some of what is being learned in the bridge simulator during simulation exercises.
This course is most appropriate for current pilots engaged with a pilotage authority or those who wish to return to the pilotage industry after time away.
The two-day format of the course can serve as a short training programme for pilotage authorities wishing to uptrain their pilots. This can be with or without a manned model ship handling course. It can also be used as a two-day refresher for those who have done a longer course previously and require a top-up.
The three-day and four-day version of the course are best-suited for pilots who have not done a pilot resource management course before or have not done one for a while. This longer version allows for deeper learning and more time for practical experience in simulator exercises.
