Command and Control Fire Fighting

About this course

This course covers the strategy and tactics of fire fighting from the point of view of the senior officer, allowing discussion and review of the management of on-board fire risk. 

Emphasis is placed on four interactive command and control exercises using ship's plans and communications. The exercises simulate fire scenarios using portable radios for communication purposes and will enable you to further develop your skills in dealing with the strategy and tactics of fire fighting.

At the end of your training, you should: 

• be up to date on the latest fire fighting developments and equipment, 
• understand the requirements for effective management of the on-board fire risk, and 
• have the knowledge to implement the strategy and tactics to be used in fire fighting.
