About this course

Under the STCW 2010 requirements for training and certification, holders of an advanced fire fighting certificate require updated proficiency training in advanced fire fighting every five years. 

Please note: this course does not remove the obligation for holders to update their fire prevention and fire fighting certificate every five years.

What you'll learn

This one-day classroom-based course involves group work. The content focuses on controlling fire fighting operations on board ship, organising and training fire parties, inspecting and servicing fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment, fixed systems and fire investigations. 

Prerequisites

• Seafarers holding an STCW Advanced Fire Fighting certificate.
• Advanced Fire Fighting (4-day) training undertaken prior to 31 January 2002.
