About this course

This MCA-approved course is entry level for those wishing to work on yachts, workboats, fishing vessels, tugs, standby, seismic survey, oceanographic research vessels and government patrol vessels.  

It is recognised by captains and yacht crew management companies and is ideal for those wishing to start careers within the deck or engine department of superyachts or other small vessels.

What you'll learn

This course will provide you with the basic theoretical knowledge and some practical hands-on experience of diesel engines to work as dual deck hand/engineers on yachts over 24m.

The MCA has made changes on how students can access the Training Record Book, which must now be through an MCA-approved training provider.
