About this course

This course is made up of a mixture of classroom-based theory sessions, practical demonstrations, exercises, audio-visual displays and group discussions. 
 
The course provides delegates with the knowledge to: 

  • Contribute to the safe cargo operation of a liquefied gas tanker.
  • Take precautions to prevent hazards.
  • Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures.
  • Respond to emergencies.
  • Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of liquefied gas. 

The course is also available to industry professionals who do not require STCW Certification.

Prerequisites

Training in Tanker Fire Fighting 

Those undertaking this training for STCW certification must have completed the Tanker Fire Fighting course, which meets the competence; carry out fire fighting operations as set out in tables A-V/1-1-1 and A-V/1-2-1 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978, as amended; and be in possession of the relevant certifications.

If you are not in possession of the tanker fire fighting certificate (which is a five-hour-stand-alone course), we offer this training.

The Tanker Fire Fighting certificate will also be issued on completion of the Advanced Fire Fighting course. Please note, there are prerequisites for enrolling on the Advanced Fire Fighting course, such as a Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting certificate, or equivalent - please see the course page for details.

The course is also available to industry professionals who do not require STCW certification.
