About this course
This course is designed to give seafarers essential education and training in fire fighting and operations on board tankers (oil, chemical, or liquefied gas) to meet the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements set out in STCW Tables A-V/1-1-1 and A/V/1-2-1 for oil and chemical tankers and liquefied gas tanker cargo.

What you'll learn
Tanker fire fighting is a half-day all practical course at our fire ground. It uses on board equipment and fixed systems in dealing with a range of different fire types likely to occur on tankers.
By the end of the course you will be expected to carry out the initial actions on discovering a fire; describe the use of fixed deck fire fighting equipment, including dry powder and foam; and demonstrate the use of portable fire fighting foam equipment, amongst other objectives.
Prerequisites
To attend this course you must have successfully completed STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting training.
